In summary, beginning in August 2025 owners will be required to conduct and provide X ray fluorescence (XFF) testing records. If a child under the age of 6 lives in a unit or private dwelling not occupied by the owner the property owner must remediate any lead-based paint hazards.

In addition building owners also have annual requirements when turning over units, signing or renewing leases, and remediating lead-based paint hazards.
Building owners must conduct a visual
inspection in units which have children under the age of 6 in residence. They must also distribute an annual notice
between January 1-15 where the owner knows lead base paint exists.
Safe work practices must be followed and documented by property owners, if repair work will disturb more than 2 sq. ft.
